The message of greetings reads, in part:
“This is one of the biggest holidays for Muslims all over the world. It is preceded by a period of spiritual improvement and care for the needy.
“Today, the Russian Ummah is undergoing a genuine revival. New mosques are being built; universities and madrasahs are being established. Importantly, the followers of traditional Islam are taking an active role in the public life of our multi-ethnic and multi-faith country. With their fruitful, beneficent and enlightening activities, they are promoting the preservation of civil peace and harmony in Russia.
“I wish you and all Muslims health, prosperity and all the best.”
