First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov holds a meeting of the Sub-Commission on Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation and Protective Measures in Foreign Trade

The commission members supported the decision to retain the Customs Union’s 5% import duty on particular kinds of coated paper and printing cardboard for another year due to absence of such goods in Russian production.

In terms of the import duties on palm oil, which is supplied in packs, the commission decided to set a permanent rate of 0.4 euro per kilogram.

In order to support the manufacturers of electric heaters, the commission will recommend that the Customs Union set the duty on liquid-filled radiators at 5 euro per item. A rate at 10% of the customs value has been applied to such items in the past.

The meeting participants supported the decision to reduce the duty on polyester monothread from 10% to 5%, since the thread, which is used in the production of filter fabric, is not currently produced in Russia.

The commission members did not amend import rates on pesticides or aluminium lids for jars.

At the end of the meeting, Sub-Commission Chairman Viktor Zubkov charged its members to reexamine export duties on unfinished leather products and import duties on particular types of mining equipment.
