President Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi boarded the new Sukhoi Superjet 100 Russian mid-range aircraft in Sochi after it arrived from Yakutsk as part of a flight test. Following a brief tour of its interior, the three leaders exchanged opinions, all of them agreeing that the new aircraft has huge potential.
The new jet is the product of extensive international cooperation: it was developed by over 30 major international aeronautical manufacturers and suppliers, including the Italian firm Finmeccanica.
The three leaders enjoyed a private dinner prior to their tour.
