Following a discussion, it was decided to recommend to the Government to abolish import customs duties on coking coal of the so-called "fat" brands "Zh", "K" and "KO". That measure would ensure that Russian producers will get sufficient amounts of coal of the above-mentioned grades.
The Commission approved the increase of the "euro component" of the combined export customs duty on ferrous metal scrap and waste to 36 euro per tonne.
Considering the shrinking exports from Russia of non-ferrous metal scrap and waste, it was decided to preserve the combined duties with regard to that type of product.
Pursuant to the directive of Prime Minister Putin, the Commission agreed on the need to abolish import duties on ores and concentrates used in the production of ferrous alloys.
After discussing other issues the Commission decided to recommend to the Government to abolish import duties on:
- - natural rubber widely used in tire production,
- - polystyrene foam used in manufacturing building blocks,
- - flat-rolled metal sheet used in the domestic automobile industry for car bodies,
- - certain types of raw leather.
