Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov discuss major energy projects by telephone

Prime Ministers Putin and Borisov discussed the current state of their two countries' economic cooperation, focusing on two major energy projects: the South Stream gas pipeline and the future nuclear power station near the Bulgarian town of Belene. The prime ministers agreed that First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov would pay a visit to Bulgaria on July 6 to discuss these issues in detail.

Mr Borisov has stated previously that Bulgaria may terminate the South Stream and the Belene nuclear power station projects, saying that he would like to review the agreements concluded by his predecessors thoroughly.
