Vladimir Putin meets with agricultural producers from the Voronezh Region
The Government of the Russian Federation will continue its agriculture support programme, the prime minister said at a meeting with representatives of Voronezh Region agricultural enterprises.

The meeting focused on the defence sector. In the prime minister's opinion, instead of modernising outdated defence enterprises, it is advisable in certain instances to build new ones in the Russian regions as long as the working staff of operating defence plants are retained. The meeting also addressed the issues of pay for teachers and healthcare modernisation.
The issues discussed at the meeting included the results achieved by the interdepartmental group on countering illegal financial transactions and corruption, which was established recently, as well as proposals to improve legislation in this sphere.

Vladimir Putin and Kirill Dmitriev discussed the initial results of the recently established Russian Direct Investment Fund, which has already concluded a billion dollars worth of deals. According to its CEO this shows that foreign investors have trust in the Russian market.
"We need to work out a comprehensive strategy for implementing the federal targeted programmes. We should increase the accountability of the individuals and agencies in charge of implementing the projects. We also need to review the selection criteria and the system of objectives and indicators for the federal targeted programmes."
